We knew her way back when…

More fantastic feedback today from Dani Tersini, a singer who came to the Make It Happen truck at the night market.   She reminds us in her postcard that her goal was, no IS to make A BAND happen.

Dani reports that she is in the midst of making it happen by contacting musicians, making connections, using craigslist, word of mouth, auditioning and networking at shows.

If, no WHEN Dani becomes famous and plays Madison Square Garden, we will be able to say that we knew her when she started.  Link here to some of her music. Or try listening here

Dr. Claw is making it happen in my tummy!

By the time you’ve read this you’ve probably heard;  Dr. Claw makes lobster rolls that melt in your mouth.  This man and his contraband delights are my new BFF and he’s a hottie to boot.

Making mouths water all over Brooklyn.

Here’s a tip.  If you want to make it happen, start by getting your hands on one of these babies.

Hot of the press!

There’s a great article in Wired about the Lost Horizon Night Market, complete with a shoutout from Vanessa.

““Originally, I was going to help my friends in the Make It Happen Truck,” which was devoted to helping people complete personal goals, says Vanessa Paulsen, proprietor of photo-booth truck. “Then I said, ‘Fuck that, I’m gonna make my own thing happen.”

That’s the spirit, Vanessa!! Makes me wish I had taken more time to see other trucks at the market!

Make It Happen 2

The Make It Happen team officially announces its next iteration:  We will be holding Office Hours at the Lost Horizon Night Market on the evening of Saturday May 8, 2010.  The Lost Horizon Night Market is an evening of brilliant and strange things that occurs periodically in an undisclosed location.

Please email the Make It Happen facilitators  and we will inform you of the time and location.

Extremely special commemorative talismanic objects will be provided to any and all former Make It Happen clients who joins us on May 8.

Not entirely satisfied clients Make It Happen!

The lovely and brilliant Joann of UpDownAcross addressed and assessed what happened when she did not make love happen on Friday night.

“I didn’t make it happen, nowhere close…”

Can not making it happen count as making it happen?  Make It Happen has yet to develop a position on not making it happen.  But like Samuel Beckett, we suspect there may be value in failing a few times.   It’s a great way to warm up to making it happen later.  As the playwright wrote, “No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”  Make It Happen counsels patience and persistence in all endeavors.  We remain confident in Joann’s ability to make it happen.  Also, we look great in her pictures.

Please draw inspiration from a bust of Samuel Beckett made out of fimo clay.  Way to make it happen.

Welcome to MIH1 at Flux

The facilitators of Make it Happen consulted with over 40 clients in our office at the Flux Factory Inaugural show.  Throughout the evening, we met with people who wanted to do everything from change their career, to get married, to get a D License in skydiving. As facilitators, our goal is to give people the tools to achieve their dreams, no matter how large or small.
